Visitors to the Home bound

Role: Visitors to the home bound pray with and bring communion to those who are not able to join us on Sundays due to illness or circumstance. they bring cheer to those parishioners and helps them to continue to feel part of the parish family.
Major Responsibilities:
Personal Qualities Needed: Usually the person who participates in this ministry is already an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion. This ministry also requires someone who is friendly and willing to travel to the residence of the home bound person.
Time Commitment: Visits are usually made once a month but can be arranged according to the schedule of the visitor and the parishioner
All volunteers 14 and older must take the child and youth protection training Virtus. To volunteer contact Deacon Joe Wolf at 301-271-4099 or joe.wolf@archbalt.org.
Major Responsibilities:
- Pick up a consecreated host to take to the home bound parishioner
- Pray with and distribute communion to the parishioner
- Visit with the parishioner and ensure them of the parish's continuing thoughts and prayers for them
- Ask if other needs can be supplied such as the sacraments of the Anointing of the Sick or Reconciliation. If so, inform the parish office so arrangements can be made for a priest to visit
