Cantor/Song Leader
Role: To lead the congregation in song and encourage active participation of the assembly.
Major Responsibilities:
  • Announce hymns and numbers
  • Lead the congregation in singing the hymns
  • Teach new songs before Mass
  • Sing occasional solos or solo verses
  • Participate in two liturgy committee meetings per year for planning and faith development
Formation: Initial and ongoing formation provided. Previous musical experience or background is very helpful.
Personal Qualities Needed: Outgoing person, ability to lead. Clear singing voice required and an ability to project voice. Confidence in public speaking.
Time Commitment: Practice times and Masses as scheduled.

Choir Member
Role: The choir serves the assembly of the faithful at scheduled Masses and other parish-based events as needed.
Major Responsibilities:
  • Willingness to give one hour per week for rehearsals
  • Learn at least two new hymns per liturgical season
  • Responsible for choir books and supplies
  • Participate in two liturgy committee meetings per year for planning and faith development
Formation: Weekly one hour practice.
Personal Qualities Needed: A willingness to sing and learn four part voice harmony.
Time Commitment: Practice times and Masses as scheduled.
