Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults
RCIA

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults is a process where adults who are not baptized attend sessions to learn about the Catholic Church and their own faith journey. People who are baptized in a non-Catholic denomination and wish to become Catholic or who are baptized Catholic but have not received either the sacraments of Eucharist and/or Confirmation are also welcome to attend these sessions in preparation to receive the sacraments and be fully initiated into the Catholic faith.
The sessions take place on Monday evenings from 7:00-8:30 pm at St. Anthony Shrine in the upper hall and St. Joseph’s Emmitsburg Parish Hall as follows:
St. Joseph – Sept, Nov, Jan, Mar, May
St. Anthony Shrine – Oct, Dec, Feb, Apr, Jun
Each session includes prayer, fellowship and information about various topics in the Church.
